If you haven’t heard yet, your reasons to go to Magfest this year just got a lot sweeter. We’ve been going nuts trying to keep this secret for a while, but its finally safe to share the news: Nobuo Uematsu is an official guest at Magfest. Here’s the official word:
We are extremely proud and excited to welcome Nobuo Uematsu and his new band EARTHBOUND PAPAS as guests and performers at MAGFest X. Nobuo Uematsu is a video game music composer best known for creating the sound tracks to the vast majority of the Final Fantasy series. EARTHBOUND PAPAS is the band he created after his former group The Black Mages disbanded, and even includes several former members of The Black Mages. Each one of them is an amazing musician in their own right, and a welcome addition to the MAGFest family.
EARTHBOUND PAPAS are:
Nobuo Uematsu – Keyboards – Composer for most of the Final Fantasy Series
Michio Okamiya – Guitar – Performer/arranger on several Square Enix soundtracks, and former Black Mages member
Yoshitaka Hirota – Bass – Shadow Hearts trilogy composer
Tsutomu Narita – Keyboards and Guitar – Composer for UnchainBlades ReXX
Arata Hanyuda – Drums – Performer on the More Friends, and Final Fantasy III (DS) albums, and former Black Mages memberIt’s an honor to add them to the list of bands and guests that will be appearing at MAGFest this year.
